TikTok Automation Campaign
Making a complex automation proposition clear, useful and commercially compelling

Context

TikTok’s Smart+ Automation campaign focused on helping advertisers understand and adopt TikTok’s automated advertising solutions. The challenge was to translate a complex product proposition into clear, audience-relevant storytelling while maintaining a consistent global narrative across EUI channels.

My role

I owned the end-to-end content strategy for the global Smart+ Automation campaign through to close-out, partnering with Product Marketing, global teams, creative partners and senior stakeholders to define the narrative, adapt it for EUI audiences and translate it across formats.

What I did

  • Led the content strategy and production of the Smart+ Playbook, from narrative development and agency briefing through copy review, design feedback and global stakeholder alignment.
  • Partnered with the Head of Product Marketing Communications on the campaign’s creative wrapper and strapline.
  • Developed distinct narratives for C-suite decision-makers and practitioners, including two Financial Times thought-leadership articles tailored to each audience.
  • Wrote executive thought leadership for the European Head of Sales, translating the automation proposition into a strategic narrative for senior advertisers.
  • Directed product explainer videos, focusing on simplifying complex product functionality and sharpening the customer-facing story.
  • Developed CRM and social content to reinforce the campaign narrative across the customer journey.

Results

  • Campaign activity contributed to $5.5M+ incremental revenue, including $4.75M from webinar activity and $796K through LinkedIn lead generation.
  • The campaign generated 77 qualified marketing leads, while 950 advertisers were newly allowlisted to Smart+ 2.0, generating $18.3M in spend during the campaign period.
  • The Smart+ Playbook generated 1,941 reads, 259 downloads and a 7-minute average read time.
  • Financial Times thought-leadership content generated 760K+ impressions and 2,669 article views, 72% above target.
  • Social content achieved 6x benchmark engagement, while CRM reached 27% CTR versus a 12% benchmark.
  • A LinkedIn Brand Lift Study showed a statistically significant +4.88 percentage-point lift in Smart+ familiarity.

Takeaway

This project demonstrates my ability to turn technically complex product narratives into clear, differentiated content for distinct audiences, while connecting brand storytelling to measurable adoption, lead generation and revenue outcomes.
