Let’s work together.
I work with brands on content strategy, editorial standards and the writing itself. Below is what I take on most often. If your project sits somewhere between these, I’d still love to hear from you: hello@natashaonwuemezi.com
Content strategy for B2B and platform brands
I build content programmes from scratch, and I fix ones that have stopped working. That covers the strategy, the pillars, the formats, the calendar, and the governance that keeps it consistent once other people are running it day to day.
Most recently I built TikTok for Business’s European content programme from nothing: a full-funnel operation across web, organic social, email and thought leadership, running in nine markets and five languages, with content tied directly to commercial outcomes.
Typical projects: content strategy and audit · messaging and positioning frameworks · format and franchise development · campaign and launch content programmes · channel strategy for organic social, email and owned web
Editorial standards and governance
Tone of voice, editorial guidelines, briefing processes and quality frameworks. The infrastructure that lets a team, an agency or a group of markets produce consistent work without everything routing through one person.
I wrote the tone of voice, copywriting, briefing and content production guides now used as the global standard at TikTok for Business, and set the policy and workflows for how AI is used in content production.
Typical projects: tone of voice and messaging guidelines · editorial governance frameworks · briefing templates and processes · agency onboarding and quality control · AI content policy and workflow design
Thought leadership and ghostwriting
I write for and with senior leaders: bylined articles, executive newsletters, keynote narratives and trade press features. My work has run with Forbes, the Financial Times, Business Insider and WARC, consistently above benchmark on read time.
Typical projects: executive bylines and ghostwriting · newsletter strategy and writing · long-form reports and playbooks · trade media partnership content
Editorial consultancy for publishing
Commissioning, editing and editorial direction for publishers, magazines and literary organisations. I’m Associate Editor at The Bookseller, guest editor of its annual Black issue, and chair of the Discover Book of the Year panel at the British Book Awards. Clients include Penguin Random House and HarperCollins.
Typical projects: editorial direction and commissioning · issue and series programming · copy-editing and proofreading across fiction and non-fiction · editorial strategy for small presses and independent publishers
Speaking and chairing
I chair panels and speak at industry events on content strategy, publishing, and the business of storytelling. Recent appearances include the Inpress Festival of Publishing and Artful Scribe’s Industry Day, and I co-programmed FutureBook, Europe’s largest publishing conference.
